COMPLIANCE GUIDE FOR AMAZON SELLERS

UL 62368-1 Test Report vs UL Listed: What Amazon Sellers Should Know

Suppliers often say a product has a “UL report”. That usually means a test report to a UL standard, which is not the same as a UL Listing. The difference decides what you can say on your listing, what you can show in a compliance review and what your retailer will accept.

Short answer: a UL 62368-1 test report shows that samples of one model were tested to the standard by a laboratory. UL Listed means UL Solutions certified the product, authorized the UL Mark and keeps inspecting the factory. Where a LONGRICH model has UL 62368-1 documentation, it is a test report, not a Listing. None of our products are UL Listed, so they must not carry the UL Mark or be described as UL Listed.

UL Solutions is one of several Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs) recognized by OSHA. Each NRTL uses its own registered certification mark, so an ETL or CSA Listing plays the same role as a UL Listing for most buyers.

What This Means for Your Amazon Listing

Documents follow the category

Amazon sets document requirements by product category and shows them in Seller Central. For many plug-in electrical products, sellers are asked for a safety test report to the applicable standard from a third-party laboratory, often one accredited to ISO/IEC 17025. Requirements change, so check what is shown for your listing.

Details must match

Reviews compare the report with the listing. The model number, brand, ratings and product photos should match what the report describes. A report for a similar model, or for a different plug or USB configuration, is a common reason for rejection.

Say “tested to”, not “Listed”

With a test report you can say the product was tested to UL 62368-1 and share the report when asked. Do not write “UL Listed” or “UL certified” in titles, bullets or images, and do not use the UL logo.

Some channels need a Listing

Retailers, distributors and workplace buyers may require a Listing from an NRTL. US power strips are usually evaluated under UL 1363 rather than UL 62368-1; see our US power strip market guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a UL 62368-1 test report the same as UL Listed?

No. A test report records that samples of a specific model were tested to UL 62368-1 by a laboratory. UL Listed means UL Solutions certified the product, authorized the UL Listing Mark and keeps checking production through factory follow-up inspections. A product with only a test report is not UL Listed and must not carry the UL Mark.

Can I write “UL certified” or “UL Listed” on my Amazon listing if I have a test report?

No. With a test report you can say the product was tested to UL 62368-1, and share the report when asked. Words such as “UL Listed” or “UL certified”, or the UL logo in images, describe a certification the product does not have.

Will Amazon accept a UL 62368-1 test report?

Amazon sets document requirements by product category and shows them in Seller Central, and they change over time. For many plug-in electrical products, sellers are asked for a safety test report to the applicable standard from a third-party laboratory, often one accredited to ISO/IEC 17025. Check the requirement shown for your listing and make sure the model, brand and ratings in the report match it.

Do you have UL 1363 reports for power strips?

No. Our reports are to UL 62368-1, and we hold no UL 1363 evaluations or Listings. If your retailer or channel requires UL 1363 or a UL or ETL Listing for a power strip, we arrange that project with you for the final configuration.
