How to choose a voltage converter platform

Buyers and travelers also call these products travel transformers, step-down transformers or 220V to 110V converters. Start from the devices your customers will plug in, then narrow the range by power class and format. The comparison table below lists the ratings, and our travel adapter vs voltage converter guide explains when a converter is needed at all.

1. Size the load

For small single-voltage devices up to 200W, start with TUS-9. For mid-power devices where waveform matters, look at TUS-13. For higher-power appliances, compare the 2000W platforms: TUS-4, TUS-2F, TUS-8B, TUS-8 and TUS-11.

2. Pick the format

A converter strip (TUS-2F) suits a desk or hotel room, interchangeable plugs (TUS-8B) suit multi-country ranges, a foldable EU plug (TUS-8) suits an EU-only program, and a compact body (TUS-9) suits carry-on travel.

3. Send the device list

Send an RFQ with the device types and wattage your customers use, the destination markets, the model or power class you prefer, the quantity per model and your logo and packaging needs. We check the device list against the model before quoting.

Is a travel transformer the same as a voltage converter?

Yes. Travel transformer, step-down transformer and 220V to 110V converter are common names for the same product: it steps 220–240V mains down to 100–125V so single-voltage devices can be used abroad. We supply them for private-label and distributor programs.

Do I need a voltage converter or only a plug adapter?

Check the device rating label. If it reads 100–240V, the device is dual voltage and only needs a plug adapter. If it shows a single value such as 120V, it needs a step-down converter rated above the device's power.

Which models have a pure sine wave output?

TUS-13 (600W) and TUS-11 (2000W) give a pure sine wave 115V, 60Hz output, for programs where waveform matters to the target devices. We review the device list with you before quoting.

Can I use a hair dryer with a voltage converter?

Only within the converter's continuous rating and supported appliance types. Hair dryers, kettles and irons draw high power, so we confirm the appliance list against the model before it is described as compatible.

What is the MOQ for private label voltage converters?

1,000 pcs per model is standard; existing models with your logo and neutral packaging start from 500 pcs per model. Stock samples ship in about 3 days; mass production takes about 35 days for 1,000–5,000 pcs.
