OEM / ODM Knowledge

Practical guidance on OEM versus ODM, customization, MOQ, certification, tooling and packaging.

How an OEM / ODM program runs at LONGRICH

Projects either customize an existing LONGRICH platform or develop a new product. The first path is faster and is where most private-label programs start.

OEM on an existing model

Logo, color and packaging are the usual changes. Plug, USB and structural changes are reviewed by our engineers before we quote. See OEM vs ODM.

ODM development

Requirement evaluation, engineering development, prototype and sampling, testing and compliance support, pilot production and mass production. See travel adapter customization.

MOQ, samples and lead time

MOQ is 1,000 pcs standard, or from 500 pcs per model on existing models with neutral packaging; stock samples ship in about 3 days, and mass production takes about 35 days for 1,000–5,000 pcs and about 40 days above 5,000. Models can be mixed in one order at 500 pcs or more per model.

Documents

Test reports are model-specific. Selected US models have UL-standard test reports from third-party labs; these are test reports, not UL Listing. We confirm which documents cover your exact model before quoting. See quality control.

Packaging & Amazon FBA

We apply carton marks and FBA labels and deliver to your forwarder’s warehouse in China (FOB). See Amazon sellers.

Choosing a supplier

Use the manufacturer checklist to compare engineering, testing, MOQ and capacity across suppliers.
